Till the Next Con…

Comic Con Cape Town has come and gone, but the memories of the event will live on in the minds of the over 20,000 attendees who flocked to the CTICC for the biggest fan convention the Mother City has ever seen.

Comic Con Cape Town was a star-studded affair, with a lineup of celebrity guests that included some of the biggest names in the world of pop culture.

Fans were thrilled to hear from their favorite actors, artists, steamers, and creators on panels covering everything from their current projects to their personal lives and experiences. One of the standout guests was actress Kat Graham, who not only shared insights into her career but also showed off her impressive dancing skills to the delight of the audience.

The event was a true celebration of all things pop culture, and attendees had the chance to meet and interact with some of their favourite people. From getting autographs and photos with their favorite stars to browsing the incredible range of exhibitors and vendors, there was something for everyone at Comic Con Cape Town.

The South African regional cosplay competition was a highlight of the event, drawing some of the best cosplayers in the country to showcase their skills and creativity. Nicolas Andalis emerged as the winner with her impressive costume of Nadja from the popular TV show “What We Do in the Shadows”. She will represent the region at the national cosplay competition in Johannesburg later this year, and we wish her the best of luck.

But it wasn’t just about the professional cosplayers. The casual cosplayers were also out in force, with attendees donning costumes of their favorite characters from all corners of the pop culture universe. From Thanos to Loki, Goku, and Batman, there was no shortage of amazing costumes to be seen.

The event also featured some exciting eSport tournaments, with gamers competing in popular titles like Fortnite and League of Legends. One of the standout players was 19-year-old Zaid April, who took home the top prize and earned the admiration of fellow gamers and fans alike.

However, for some attendees, the excitement of the event has been tempered by outstanding expenses, including travel costs to and from the event. If you would like to support The Movie Guy in covering these expenses, please consider making a contribution to the following bank account:

Despite these challenges, Comic Con Cape Town was a resounding success, and we can’t wait to see what the organizers have in store for us next year. Until then, we’ll be reliving the memories and enjoying the photos and souvenirs.
