Introducing the Mutants

We finally have mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but not exactly the ones we hoped for.

Sure, Namor is great and he is technically Marvel’s first mutant, but there’s this other mutant team we’ve been waiting for. I know they also retconned Ms Marvel into being a mutant instead of an Inhuman, which is something I don’t agree with.

She could’ve been the our introduction to the MCU Inhumans, especially after we got Anson Mount as Black Bolt in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Let’s forget about that for now and talk about the X-Men. We know that Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine, Patrick Stewart also came Professor X, but they are just variants it seems.

Who will take over these roles. Join me as I share some fan-castings for the most famous mutants, the X-Men. So like, subscribe and comment your casting choices. Today we will only focus on three X-Men, Logan, Jean Grey and Scott Summers.

Wolverine

  • Taron Egerton: Is the obvious choice, but he might no longer be interested. He’s got range and he can definitely pull of the gruff and he’s got the build.
  • Daniel Radcliffe: The obvious second choice. From wizard to mutant and he might really pull it off. He can be as close to comic accurate as they come.
  • Karl Urban: While he already has a role in the MCU, I think he can do this as well. Billy Butcher is almost Wolverine but few steps removed, so Karl has my vote.
  • Travis Fimmel: Known for his role in Vikings. He has the charm and intensity we love in Wolverine.
  • Sam Heughan: He rugged look will make for the ideal Wolverine, and he’s not yet a big name star.

Honourary mention, I still wish we could have gotten Tom Hardy as Wolverine, but Venom is cool too.

Jean Grey

  • Sophie Turner: She can easily return to the role, she has the look, she just needs a better script.
  • Sadie Sink: If they go for a young X-Men team then Sadie is the obvious first choice. She has a lot of range and can definitely balance the Phoenix and Jean Grey.
  • Saoirse Ronan: She is probably one of the best actresses of her generation, which means she can pull of this role.
  • Emma Watson: This isn’t because I want to see the whole Harry Potter cast in the MCU, but simply because I think she’d be great as Jean.
  • Anya Taylor-Joy: She has a lot of depth and her roles in the Queen’s Gambit and The Menu proves that she has a place in the MCU.

Scott Summers/Cyclops

  • Tye Sheridan: He can always return as Cyclops. I don’t think the movies gave him enough to work with.
  • Ansel Elgort: He is pretty consistent but has range. So maybe Marvel should give him a chance.
  • Joe Keery: He’s pretty already a leader in Stranger Things and it would be awesome to see him take lead in the X-Men movies.
  • Dylan O’Brien: Another great young actor who can step up to lead the mutants. He’s a brilliant actor.
  • Christian Bale: If he wants to be part of a franchise again, then give it to him. After the flop that was Thor: Love and Thunder, I would love to see Christian back in the MCU but in a different role.

What other X-Men members do you hope to see in the MCU? I still have so many I’d love to see. Next time we’ll talk about Emma Frost, Professor X and Rogue.
