We’re Going To Comic Con Cape Town

Comic Con Cape Town is almost here, and I’m excited to bring it to you live from the convention floor.

Comic Con Cape Town is almost here, and I’m excited to bring it to you through social media content. I really hope you will read this till the end.

I will once again be coming to you live from Comic Con Cape Town in the Mother City and this time around, I will be kicking off my journey earlier than usual. In just over two weeks, Comic Con will open its doors to the public, and I’ll be covering it way before the event kicks off.

This year will be extra special because I’m already living in Cape Town temporarily (hopefully permanently soon), so it feels like the Con is taking place on my doorstep… I probably already have one foot in through door at the Cape Town Convention Centre. I’m fortunate to be able to cover this event for the second year in a row.

I’d be lying if I said I’m not eager for Comic Con. I’ve waited a year, and it’s almost here. This time it’s not long after my birthday (double win!). If you can’t make it to Comic Con Cape Town this year than that’s a bummer. I would’ve loved to meet you, unless I already know you.

The best you can do now is follow along on my social media pages to see what’s happening on the convention floor. I might even give you a sneak peek into some other awesome stuff behind-the-stage. I see I forgot to share the date, Comic Con Cape Town will take place at the CTICC from 27 April to 1 May. This year will feature a bunch of new and awesome activations as well as a bigger convention floor, but I’ll share more information next week.

I will be covering the event for at least 3 out of the 5 days, depending on my budget. I will be live tweeting (x’ing? No that doesn’t sound right), sharing pictures on Instagram (if that’s still a thing) and sharing cool videos on TikTok (no, I won’t be doing a little dance for you). I will also write a bunch of articles because that’s my jam. And I will hopefully get you interested in my YouTube channel with some long format videos.

I’ll basically be working 15 hours a day, for at least three days to get everyone off their butts and into the CTICC or at least inspire people to look at their phones for longer than usual. Comic Con is one of the most important events for The Movie Guy, it’ll also heavily feature in a once-off issue of The Movie Guyde coming out soon.

My journey is still confusing, but the geeky stuff like this convention always have me excited to continue doing what I do. I really hope you’ll be sticking around to check out all my content for the next few weeks… And maybe even beyond?

I might be in Cape Town already, but I still need help covering this event. I will be working at Comic Con for at least 10 hours each day, which means I might go hungry and God forbid, thirsty. So, if you want to sponsor me a snack or non-alcoholic drink, or if you want to help me cover my costs to get to and from the event, then that will be really cool.

And if you want to send me a long motivational letter, then find my email address below. In all seriousness, I will appreciate any help I can get. I go to events like these not just for fun, but to engage with others, to learn, to grow my brand, to work and to bring joy to others. I really hope I can make this Comic Con one I will never forget. And if you want to support me as The Movie Guy then please fill in the form below or contact me.

On another note, my South African visa will expire on the 4th of May, which means I’ll have to go back to Namibia. I can however extend the visa, but it will cost (N$)R2000. If you know anyone who can help me with this then please contact me or fill out the form below.
