It’s not always easy to ask for help, but sometimes you have to swallow your pride, open your mouth and just hope for the best.
There’s nothing I enjoy more than talking about the things I love and thanks to you all, I’ve been doing that for almost three years now. The Movie Guy has grown beyond my wildest dreams. The work isn’t always easy, but every second of it is worth it. Lately, things have gotten a little difficult. I use my phone for literally 90% of my work.
My phone isn’t just a gadget; it’s my lifeline. Every article I write, every video I shoot, every piece of content I edit, and every picture I take all come from this small device. It’s my connection to film distributors, media companies, and all of you, my incredible audience. Without it, I won’t be able to do any work.
Let me tell you why it is so crucial. I use it to write those movie reviews and articles you love. Every vlog and review is filmed using my phone’s camera. Quick edits on the go? My phone’s got me covered. From movie posters to candid shots, my phone handles it all. It’s my main way to keep in touch with industry contacts and all of you. Plus, I create promotional materials not only for myself but for others who need help.
However, my trusty phone is now showing its age. It’s a few years old and has started to freeze and restart at the most inconvenient times. Imagine working on a video edit only for your phone to crash repeatedly. Frustrating, right? It’s becoming nearly impossible to get through my tasks, and it’s taking a toll on my productivity and sanity.
I never thought I’d find myself in this position, but here I am. I’m reaching out to ask for your support because, frankly, I need a new phone to keep doing what I do best. Without it, I risk losing my main source of income and the ability to connect with the community we’ve built together. More importantly, I wouldn’t be able to continue helping others by designing posters, flyers, brochures, and content for those who can’t afford these services.
