The Brave and the Bold, the DCU Batman film will go into production later this year – the good news is that the Dark Knight will have a cameo in James Gunn’s Superman.
The DCU version of the Caped Crusader has been cast and will be part of James Gunn’s universe from the start. Fans already saw a silhouette of the Batman in Creature Commandos last year, but they are in for a treat when Superman hits theatres later this year. DC Studios finally confirmed who will star as their version of the World’s Greatest Detective.
Bruce Wayne aka Batman will be played by none other than Michael B Jordan. Jordan is reportedly in high hopes that fans will love his take on the iconic character. Jordan was previously reported to star and produce a Superman film in the former DCEU. Jordan’s Batman will have a brief cameo where he will meet David Corenswet’s Superman.
Michael B Jordan is also no stranger to the superhero genre. He previously starred in Fantastic Four as well as in Black Panther. Fans have long called for him to be in the DCU. And recently Batman fans have been vocal about getting him to put on the cowl.
The Brave and the Bold will go into production alongside the much anticipated follow up of The Batman. Robert Pattinson will continue to play the character in the Matt Reeves film. Pattinson’s Batman will be marketed as an Elseworlds version of the character.
This will mean that for the first time in history two separate Batmen will exist in some sort of cinematic universe. Only time will tell if this will work in DC Studios favour and if James Gunn made the right call. The Movie Guy will keep you up to date if more news surrounding these projects are announced.
Are you excited to see Michael B Jordan as Batman? Do you think Matt Reeves take on the currently should belong in DCU? Let us know in the comments.
