Here’s the thing, I really want to attend Comic Con Africa this year and not just because I want to meet Misha Collins (although that would be awesome), but also because it will be a full circle moment.
Comic Con Africa is in a little over a month and I’m still trying to scrape together funds to get there. I haven’t been to CCA since 2022 and back then I was basically just starting off. Getting to go this year has always been the goal, but it hasn’t been easy to get most of my projects off the ground.
That’s why I’m turning to you, my friends, my family, my fellow geeks, weebs, and nerds. I need to get to Comic Con Africa this year and not just because I’m The Movie Guy (although, let’s be honest, that’s reason enough), but because this is my one shot, my one opportunity – to seize everything I ever wanted. This is my moment, I want to capture it and not let it slip.
I know this asking a lot, but that’s why I’m coming to the people who know how much this means to me. This isn’t just about attending an event, but making my mark in an industry that’s so hard to keep your head up in. This is about bringing Comic Con to everyone else who can’t make it. And this is about continuing something I’ve worked so hard on.
Last year, I missed out, and it sucked. This year is going to be different; I’m determined to be there. Whatever it takes. I have a few special things planned for when I get there, so if you happen to run into me at Comic Con, just tell me I’m special and you’re in.
In all seriousness, going to Comic Con Africa isn’t cheap, especially since I have to travel on planes, trains, and maybe buses? So, I’m putting this out there: help me get to Comic Con! Share my posts, help me connect with sponsors, or even chip in if you can.
I want to bring you along for the ride. I want to show you what it’s like to walk the floor, geek out over collectibles, and hopefully get an interview or two (I have a bone to pick with A-Train). If you’ve ever liked one of my reviews, joined one of my giveaways, or argued with me online this is your chance to help me do something epic.
Even though I’ll officially be on an indefinite break, there’s one big exception—Comic Con Africa. This event is too important for me as The Movie Guy, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. While I’ll still technically be on break, I’ll be reporting, creating content, and sharing all the best moments from Comic Con because it’s not just work for me, it’s where I belong.
And because I know you’re probably wondering how much it’ll take to make this all work then please contact me. If you’re one of the lucky few who can help, then please find my banking details below. Every bit helps, whether it’s R10/N$10 or just sharing this post. Thank you for being part of this journey.
