It’s happening! I am definitely going to Comic Con Africa this year.
I’m still looking for support to help me cover my costs. I know it’s asking a lot in this economy, but that’s why I’m asking that you at least share this with other if you can’t contribute. Right now, my biggest challenge is covering the cost of getting to Johannesburg and getting to and from the venue once I’m there.
If I have to give a rough estimate of what the cost will be it’s going to be around R3000/N$3000, but it might be a lot less. I’ve been cutting costs on other stuff, so I can definitely do it with this as well. I’ve been blessed with people who already reached out and helped, because of them I’m able to cover all my other expenses. And I just want to say, every little bit helps.
I’m not going to lie, I’ve already pushed hard to make sure I could go. I’ve locked in my spot, and I’m committed. I’ll be covering the event, filming content, posting updates, and meeting some amazing people.
This trip isn’t just about attending a cool event for me. It’s about the work I do and solidifying a future myself in this industry. Comic Con Africa is where content creators, journalists, artists, gamers, and fans all come together in one giant celebration of the things we love.
I’ve been working hard this year to build my platform, write meaningful reviews, share my love for movies and shows, and grow my reach as The Movie Guy. And Comic Con is the perfect place to take that further. I’ve been doing this all on a shoestring budget.
So, if you’ve ever liked one of my posts, watched a video, read an article, or just supported me in some way, then now’s a great time to lend a hand. I’m not asking for much. If you know someone who might want to sponsor a creator, or if you’d like to contribute directly, even a little goes a long way.
Let’s make this trip count. Let me represent Namibian and South African creatives, small content creators, and everyone chasing their dream.
