There are movie nights, and then there are movie events.
On 21 November, CineCentre GrandWest and The Movie Guy will co-host something truly special: a Wicked For Good Fan Screening, an evening designed not just for fans of the musical, but for anyone who loves a night out that feels exciting, immersive, and a little bit magical. I’m thrilled to be part of it, and even more excited to invite you to join me.
The evening kicks off at 18:30, giving everyone plenty of time to settle in and enjoy everything we’ve put together before the movie starts at 20:00. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a world that celebrates the spirit of Wicked. Your R120 ticket doesn’t just give you access to the film—it includes popcorn, a soda, and a full experience created with fans in mind.
One of the standout features of the night will be our Wicked-themed photo-op table, complete with movie inspired props you can use to capture your moment. We’ll also have a giant standee, perfect for those dramatic snapshots that belong on social media. Whether you’re coming alone, with friends, or with family, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take home memories long after the credits roll.
Adding to the atmosphere, we’ll have vendors at the event selling merch and other fun goodies. It’s the perfect chance to browse, shop, and treat yourself or a fellow fan. And, of course, I’ll be there too—meeting everyone, taking photos, and sharing in the excitement leading up to the screening.
But what truly elevates this event is the cosplay competition. We’re encouraging everyone to come dressed in their most creative Wicked-inspired looks. Whether you channel Elphaba, Glinda, or something entirely original, you could walk away with the title of best costume. And that’s not all—one lucky moviegoer will receive a One Night Stay for Two at One Thibault Hotel in Cape Town, breakfast included. It’s a prize that adds an extra layer of excitement to an already magical evening.
