This year had some really low lows, but also some really high highs, and because it’s the festive season, I want to focus on the positives.
I was trying to think what the one thing is that I would remember most about this year as it comes to a close, and three words came to mind. These words not only defined what made 2025 special, but they also give me a new perspective of what I want next year. The three words that defined this year for me are: Adventure, Growth and Perseverance.
Adventure
This year was nothing short of fun. The reason why I say it’s an adventure is because I was completely taken out of my comfort zone. I truly stepped out and tried new things and, you know what, I loved it. I loved the challenges and I loved learning. It wasn’t always easy, but because I stopped holding myself back, I was able to do amazing things like interview a celebrity, go to Comic Con Africa, and host my first and second Fan Screenings. Every single thing I did to achieve that was like a little adventure.
Growth
My social media pages definitely grew a lot this year. I never thought I’d someday have thousands of followers, and yet that’s not the most important part. I grew as a person, I grew as a content creator, and once again, I grew as a writer. It took me a while to get used to the growth, but now I embrace it. I love the person I’m becoming, and I love that I’m able to embrace my shortcomings and still grow. I still have a lot of growth to do, and I know it might get uncomfortable, but I want to be the best version of me for myself, for my family, and of course for everyone I meet on my journey.
Perseverance
In a sense, I think this is interchangeable with patience, because I had to learn how to be patient so I could know how to persevere. The funny thing is, this whole time I thought I was an impatient person, but looking back now, I see how much more patience I have. I took on challenges and gave it my best until I got the results I was looking for. A persevering heart can take you far, and I’m glad I didn’t give up even when it felt like the world was coming down on me. I think many people know about my struggles and burnouts, and here I still stand. I’m ready to take on new challenges in 2026.
I don’t know what the new year will bring, but I am grateful for all the ups and downs of this year. I look forward to going on new adventures, growing each day, and persevering so I can achieve my goals. Thank you if you have been part of my journey. I feel like this wild ride has just begun.
