Finding the right laptop as a content creator is harder than most people think.
I don’t just need a computer I can play games on or to just browse the internet. I need something powerful enough to edit videos, design graphics, write articles, work on screenplays, juggle more Chrome tabs than I care to admit, and still have enough left in the tank for a gaming session at the end of the day. That’s exactly what I found with the MSI Crosshair A16 HX.
I’m not someone who’s obsessed with benchmark scores or rattling off every technical specification. To be honest I don’t know much about the technical stuff, but I am learning. I care about one thing: can this laptop keep up with my workload? After spending time with the Crosshair A16 HX, the answer is an easy yes.

One of the biggest surprises was just how much faster it made my workflow. Video editing usually takes up a huge portion of my day, but this laptop cut my editing time almost in half. That meant I could finish a video, write the accompanying article, schedule my posts, and still have time left over for other projects. It might not sound like much, but when content creation is your full-time job, saving even an hour makes a massive difference.
Writing is also a huge part of what I do. Between movie reviews, interviews, newsletters and the occasional screenplay, I spend hours every day behind a keyboard. I honestly wasn’t expecting to have an opinion about the keyboard, but after using the Crosshair A16 HX, I do. It genuinely feels like typing on a keyboard made of clouds.
The keys are soft without feeling mushy, responsive without being loud, and comfortable enough that I found myself writing for hours without even thinking about it. It’s one of those things you don’t appreciate until you use a really good keyboard. I think I the laptop might have helped me improved my type speed as well.
I’m also someone who enjoys working late at night. Most of my best ideas arrive long after everyone else has gone to bed, so sometimes I write with the lights off. The RGB keyboard lighting shines through beautifully, making every key easy to see without being distracting. It almost became part of my creative routine: switch on the laptop, get my coffee, and start writing.
I didn’t just use the laptop for work. I’m a casual gamer, but the extra performance gave me the confidence to stream on TikTok for the first time. The games ran smoothly, the streams were stable, and now I actually want to stream more often. It’s nice knowing the laptop has far more power available whenever I decide to play something more demanding.

The Crosshair A16 HX is powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 processor and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, giving it more than enough power for modern games, creative software and multitasking. Combined with 16GB of DDR5 memory, an upgradeable storage system, and MSI’s OverBoost technology that can deliver up to 170W of combined CPU and GPU performance, it never felt like the laptop was struggling to keep up.
Another highlight is the display. The 16-inch QHD+ screen is bright, sharp and incredibly colourful thanks to its 240Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage. Whether I was editing videos, playing games or simply watching a movie, everything looked fantastic. In fact, I found myself skipping the TV a few times just to watch movies on the laptop because the screen almost felt like having a mini cinema sitting on my desk. It’s large enough to feel immersive while still being portable enough to carry around.
No laptop is perfect, though. The cooling fans can get fairly loud when you’re really pushing the hardware. It took me a little while to get used to, especially during longer editing or gaming sessions, but it never became distracting enough to ruin the experience. I’d much rather hear the fans working than worry about the laptop overheating.
What impressed me most wasn’t any single specification. It was how everything came together. The Crosshair A16 HX simply made my work easier. It let me edit faster, write longer, multitask without frustration and relax with a game whenever I needed a break. If you’re someone who creates content but also enjoys gaming, this feels like one of those laptops that comfortably sits in both worlds.

It’s powerful enough for demanding creative work, reliable enough to become your everyday machine, and competitively priced compared to many other high-performance gaming laptops.
After spending time with it, I can confidently say the MSI Crosshair A16 HX earns a full 5 out of 5 stars. It’s powerful, reliable, comfortable to use and, most importantly, it never once made me feel like I was waiting for the laptop to catch up with me. Instead, it finally felt like I had a laptop that could keep up with my ideas.
