The first major motion picture of 2021 finally premiered exclusively in theatres this past weekend and it was amazing.
John Krasinkski’s A Quiet Place Part II finally debut to major success over the weekend. Many of us waited so long to get back into the theatres and now it is finally time to relax in front of the silver screen. The film was delayed for over a year and I think it was worth the wait.
Set soon after the first movie, the Abbott family has to find new ways to survive after the father sacrificed himself to save them. The film further expands on how the creatures made their way to earth and what the early days of the invasion was like.
This expansion gives the characters more room to grow and the audience also gets to know more about the series’ mythology. The movie also introduces a few new characters to change it up from the first instalment
Cillian Murphy is a great addition to the cast. His acting is once again one of the aspects that really stood out. Apart from Murphy, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are once again the stars of the show. The film is based around thee Abbott family and the cast are so good, that you can’t stop rooting for them.
The movie is definitely on par with its predecessor. Krasinski brought to life his own vision by writing, directing and producing the movie. And honestly, he did a stellar job; the story is captivating and leaves you wanting more.
The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat, as all good movies should. I’m not always a fan of horror films, but this one got me really excited. It was nearly flawless and that’s why I won’t go into the parts I didn’t like about it.
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
My Verdict
This movie is worth the watch and the cinema experience so much better. Sequels rarely impress me, but this one certainly did. If you like movies with a good storyline, good acting and some amazing horror elements, then you definitely shouldn’t miss this one.
My Rating 9 out of 10 – Almost Perfect
