Last year we got some amazing new shows and this year might be no different.
I’m going to separate the returning shows from the all new shows, ‘cause there’s so much to look forward to. I had to think carefully to pick my top 6 and I have to say I’m really excited. Sitting on the couch and watching an intriguing show is like heaven on earth to me.

The Last of Us
Technically, we are no longer anticipating this show since it already aired, but it’s something I’m really excited for. I loved the games; I love Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. And I can’t wait to see how the season progresses after that awesome first episode.
Poker Face
Not to be confused with the Lady Gaga song. Poker Face is a whodunit show by Rian Johnson, so my expectations are high. I’m crazy about the Knives Out franchise and I never say no to a good murder mystery story.
Secret Invasion
Nick Fury is back and hopefully this will be a hit from Marvel. The last few shows disappointed me, but a story about the Skrull invasion has to be good. And Samuel L Jackson is one of the best parts of the MCU. So hopefully this spy thriller will be worth it.
Star Wars: The Acolyte
This star-studded series sounds impressive; hopefully it lives up to the hype. The show takes place at the end of the High Republic era, so it’s not grounded in the Skywalker saga. The franchise has proven that original stand-alone stories work and I hope this is one of them.
X-Men ‘97
This is technically not an original show, but it’s still a first season. This show continues the story of the X-Men: Animated Series from the 90s. And if you’re like me then your expectations are just as high, because this is what we grew up on.
Gen V
Okay, so apparently I have a thing for superhero shows since this is my third one, but come on there’s no way a spinoff from The Boys won’t be good. The Boys was one of the highlights of last year, so this show has a lot of weight to carry and I’m pretty sure there is a strong enough supe who can do that.
