Namibia is our beautiful home and thankfully we’re not the only ones who think that.
Namibia is known for its vast open spaces, beautiful sand dunes, the Big 5, corruption over fish quotas, the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, the diverse landscape and so much more. It truly is a magical place locked between two desserts.
That’s why Hollywood producers have been filming various movies and TV shows in our country since the 1970s. That’s right we have so much to offer that even blockbuster filmmakers thought the country was good enough to be a location for the movies.
In this series I’m going to talk about the movies, TV shows and even documentaries that were shot in our breath-taking taking country. Starting from the most obvious ones, to things you’ve never even heard of. Before I continue please subscribe and like this post and share if you can.
Mad Max: Fury Road
This is probably one of the biggest productions that took place in Namibia. And to be honest this is one of my favourite all-time movies. The big action set-pieces and the simple yet intriguing story pulled me right in.
The Mummy (2017)
This movie might not have as great as promised, but on some days when there’s nothing else to watch or do, then you can still pop this one in you DVD-player. ‘Cause no one pays for a streaming service to watch this. Anyway it brought Tom Cruise to Namibia, which is pretty cool
10 000 BC
If this movie didn’t critically flop then it probably would’ve done wonders for Namibia. It’s rally not such a bad movie for me and it really does show off the beauty of the Namibia, unfortunately it didn’t do enough. If you haven’t seen it yet, then give it a try you might end up liking it.
