Are you ready to Geek out when Comic Con Cape Town rolls into town?
We are less than 3 weeks away from what I think will be the best edition of Comic Con Cape Town yet. Now I can tell you to get your tickets or to get ready, but instead I’ll tell you what you’ll be missing out on if you don’t go. I have my tickets booked, because there’s no way I can miss it.
First of all, Emperor Palpatine or rather Ian McDiarmid will be there. I don’t need to convince anyone to join me in hanging out with the most powerful leader the Galaxy far far way has ever seen. If you are a Star Wars geek, then this is the opportunity of a lifetime. You get to spend Star Wars Day with someone who actually fought in the Star Wars. He’s not the only one can meet at this year’s convention.
Joining him on the main stage is Michael Trucco, another Sci-fi legend. He is best known for his roles in Battlestar Galactica, How I Met Your Mother and the Big Bang Theory. Recently he also took on a starring role in Fire Country. Both these actors will be interacting with fans on 3 and 4 May.
Did I tell you that Zach Aguilar will also be at Comic Con Cape Town? He’s known for his various voice acting roles in anime, including One Punch Man. He will be joined by YouTubers, Akidearest and The Anime Man. You just can’t let this opportunity slip through you fingers.
You might be asking, “But The Movie Guy, what will I do with my 13 kids?” Bring them along! Comic Con has this thing called Kids Con, which is much cooler than the main convention, and I’m kind of jealous. Toys R Us will have a special curated stall and there will be a bunch of other stalls and activations to keep the kids busy for all 4 Days.
Don’t even get me started on the Gaming activations. It doesn’t matter if you’re a hardcore, casual or mobile gamer or maybe you haven’t played a video game in years, there will be something for you. Last year I spent hours just immersed in the gaming side of things.
Now obviously this is all just the tip of the iceberg, there’s so much more that you can see, do, eat and experience at Comic Con Africa. This is just to tell you’d be missing out if you don’t book your tickets. Comic Con Cape Town has always been my favourite work event.
It’s not just because I get to live my childhood dream, but I also get to experience it with people who are just like me. And since this is a work event, I have to cover all of my costs on my own. I’m fortunate enough to currently have a place to live in Cape Town and that Comic Con Cape Town provided me with a media pass. The transport on the other hand is a nightmare. I don’t like asking, but I need your help.
Supporting me financially to attend Comic Con will allow me to create exclusive content, share behind-the-scenes experiences, and bring the latest insights and highlights from the event directly to my audience. Your contribution will not only help me cover travel and other expenses but will also enable me to connect with industry professionals.
I can interview key guests, and immerse myself fully in the event. By backing me, you’re investing in unique, in-depth coverage that will enhance our shared love for pop culture, movies, gaming, and cosplay. Your support means I can continue creating engaging and valuable content for all of you. I will be deeply grateful If you can help, regardless of how you help me.
If you can help just send an email to themovieguy.nam@gmail.com saying “I Can Help”. I know it’s asking a lot, but I wouldn’t be asking if I didn’t need it.
