Can you back The Movie Guy and help me get to Comic Con Africa?
Comic Con Africa is just over a week away, taking place in Johannesburg from 24 to 27 September, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure I can be there to cover it for The Movie Guy.
I’ve already been accredited as media for the event, which means I have the opportunity to bring you interviews, videos, photos, articles and plenty of Comic Con content. But getting to Johannesburg and covering four days at the convention comes with a cost.
That’s why I’ve launched a BackaBuddy campaign to help cover my travel, accommodation and other expenses for Comic Con Africa. And didn’t didn’t work, so we’re starting from scratch.
I’m aiming to raise R5000.
I’m not asking one person to cover the cost. I’m hoping that a lot of people who enjoy what I do can each contribute a little bit to help make the trip possible.
Whether it’s R10, R50, R100 or more, every contribution gets me closer to Johannesburg.
Here’s the thing, the lovely people over at Tessa’s Bakery gave me a voucher to help with the fundraiser. If you donate R50 or more you are automatically entered into the draw. The more you donate, the bigger your chance.
And if you can’t contribute, that’s completely okay. Sharing the campaign can help just as much. Send it to a friend, put it on your WhatsApp Status, or share it on social media. You never know who might see it and decide to help.
Comic Con Africa is one of the highlights of my year. It gives me the chance to speak to actors, filmmakers, creators and fans, discover new stories, and bring the experience back to you through The Movie Guy.
I’d really love to be there again this year.
