If you’re looking for something fun to play with the family, then this game might be exactly what you need.

This high energy racing game leans heavily into the arcade racing style that made games like Mario Kart so popular. It doesn’t quite reach the same level of polish, but it still delivers a good time, especially if you’re playing with friends or family on the couch. The biggest draw of the game is its multiplayer.

Up to four players can race together in split screen, which immediately makes it perfect for those relaxed weekend mornings when everyone just wants to jump into something fun and competitive. The Grand Prix Racing Champions mode is where the game really shines. Racing through a series of tracks while trying to outpace the people sitting right next to you creates that classic party game energy that many modern racing games have lost.

Another nice feature is the customization. Players can tweak their cars and adjust difficulty levels, which makes it easier for younger players to join in without feeling completely outmatched. This is one of the reasons the game works so well for kids and families. Everyone can find a level that suits them, whether they’re brand new to racing games or already think they’re the fastest driver in the room.

One of the most impressive parts of the game is the tracks themselves. You race around beautifully designed environments inspired by famous European landmarks, and the locations really help make each race feel different. From historic city streets to scenic countryside routes, the developers clearly wanted the world to feel big and cinematic.

If you’ve seen the movie Grand Prix of Europe, you’ll recognize the scale and ambition behind these locations. The game is directly linked to the film, and you can tell the developers tried to capture the same adventurous spirit.

That said, the game isn’t perfect. One issue that pops up from time to time is glitches. They’re not game breaking, but they can be noticeable. Occasionally the controls feel like they get stuck for a second, especially when turning or trying to quickly correct your direction during a tight corner. It can feel like the game hesitates before responding, which might cost you a position in a race. These moments don’t happen constantly, but when they do, they can be a bit frustrating.

There are also a few small technical hiccups. Sometimes characters or cars react slightly later than expected, and in rare cases the game can stutter briefly during busy races. Thankfully, these issues usually pass quickly, but they do remind you that the game doesn’t have the same level of polish as the top racing titles out there.

Still, the overall experience remains enjoyable. The game focuses more on fun and accessibility than on hardcore racing mechanics. The controls are simple enough for younger players, the tracks are visually interesting, and the multiplayer keeps things competitive in the best possible way.

At the end of the day, Grand Prix Racing Champions is not trying to compete with the biggest racing games in the genre. Instead, it feels like a family focused racing experience designed for quick bursts of fun. If you approach it with that mindset, there’s a lot to enjoy.

It’s the kind of game where you grab a controller, challenge your family to a race, and suddenly an hour has passed without anyone noticing.

And if you ask me, that’s exactly what a good family racing game should do.
