Two Weeks till Comic Con

The countdown to Comic Con Africa is officially on and there’s a lot that we can all look forward to.

This will be my first time back at Comic Con since 2022 and I’m excited to spend four days surrounded by everything I love. There are so many things that I look forward to doing and so many people I look forward to meeting. I should probably look at the programme to see how I can fit everything into my schedule.

As you probably know, I’m still raising funds to make this trip possible and there are still some things I need to take care of. If you want to support me in any way, then please feel free to reach out — every little bit counts. I’m grateful for the support I’ve received so far. I will personally write to everyone who supported me and, with their permission, I will also thank them publicly.

This is, however, not a column to round up sponsors. I want to talk more about what you can expect from me at Comic Con. I wanted to keep this all a secret, but I’m not good at keeping secrets. I’ll try to only share a limited amount of details to build suspense as we get closer to Comic Con.

First thing I’d like to do is welcome CineCentre onboard The Movie People’s train. They are teaming up with me to give away prizes at Comic Con. It will be simple and straightforward and all you have to do to win is agree to be featured in one of my videos. I’ll, of course, have to ask you a few questions, but I’ll talk more about that in the days leading up to the event.

Secondly, I’ll be handing out Golden Tickets — they are limited. Each ticket can win you something small or maybe something big. I’ve already shared too much, but if you are a Marvel, Harry Potter or Disney fan, then this one is for you. There might be something special for one special Golden Ticket winner.

Anyway, that’s it for now. I’ve said too much and I don’t want to ruin the surprise. So if you’re going to Comic Con Africa, then be sure to try and find me. I’ll be the guy cosplaying as himself. And if you still want to support me, then don’t forget to send an email to themovieguy.nam@gmail.com.
