First Thoughts on the MSI Crosshair 16 HX AI

This laptop is powerful, and I haven’t even pushed it to its limits yet.

This laptop is powerful, and I haven’t even pushed it to its limits yet.

When I got the MSI Crosshair 16 HX AI D2XW, I was unsure whether I should use it for editing my videos and other content work or whether I should use it for gaming, since I’ve never had a gaming laptop before. After thinking about it for five seconds, I decided to do both, and saying I’m impressed is an understatement.

Now, I’m not going to pretend like I know all the technical terms when it comes to computers. I just knew I needed something powerful that could carry the load. I knew I needed a strong enough Intel processor to edit seamlessly. I knew I needed a good graphics card to take my gaming experience to the next level. And I knew I needed a laptop that could store most of my raw video files.

I immediately jumped into the deep end to truly test the laptop’s limits, and I’m happy to report that I haven’t reached them yet. I will, however, review this laptop on two separate fronts. The first is content creation and work, while the second is gaming and streaming. I’ve tested the PC, and I’m surprised by what I’ve been able to do so far.

I genuinely love working on the laptop. I’ve been able to cut and edit videos and effortlessly get them ready to post. I live-streamed my first gaming session on TikTok, and it went great, except my microphone didn’t work. So far, I’m happy with the laptop, but then again, I’ve only just started.

When it comes to truly testing it, I want to know if it can fully work as my main work laptop. I use CapCut to edit my videos, and currently, I can’t run it properly on my own laptop. The longer the videos, the more RAM I need, so I really want to test that with the MSI Crosshair 16 HX AI D2XW.

I also do most of my own designs because I don’t want to give AI my ideas. So, I’m going to test how fast and efficient this laptop can make my workflow. Lastly, the most important part of my work involves a lot of writing. I know basically any laptop can run Microsoft Office or process a Google Sheet, but not every laptop is built to run screenwriting software. Who knows, maybe my next screenplay will be written on this laptop.

I’ve also been meaning to do more live streaming, and I finally have the opportunity. This PC has everything that can help me stream seamlessly, while also letting me play the games I haven’t tried out yet. I already have a few games in mind.

Along with the live streams, I’m also going to see what lessons I can learn along the way. These are just my initial thoughts, and right now, I can easily rate the MSI Crosshair 16 HX AI D2XW 4.5 out of 5 stars. I will, however, review it separately as both a gaming device and a work PC.

Think this is a laptop you might like? Get it now!
