Comic Con Africa is over a week away and the excitement is running high. The continent’s biggest pop culture event is sure to blow your mind this year.
We already talked about five of the biggest things you can expect to see or experience at this year’s convention, but that’s not all. Apparently I missed out some really cool and important stuff, but don’t worry, I’m here to share some more Comic Con Africa details with you.
Food
It doesn’t matter what event I attend, food is always the first thing I look out for. This year you can expect a bunch of food trucks and food vendors, but the biggest of them all is KFC. KFC is the official Wingman of Comic Con Africa and they will have a specialised pop culture inspired menu. What can you expect? Well obviously something finger lickin’ good, and I can’t wait to see the menu
Kids Con
Some might say I’m too old to be a kid, but Kids Con just draws out my inner child. I get so excited when I get to see all the cool toys and fun play areas. You know I actually met Mario and Luigi at Comic Con once, they were pretty cool. They even offered to help with one of my plumbing problems, but Peach needed them. All I can say is, Comic Con is for the whole family. Kids Con has so much to offer that I promise you won’t get bored and your kids will want to come back over and over again.
Activations
Comic Con Africa is known for all its cool activations. I once got to experience The Upside Down from Stranger Things and right after had some ice cream. This year my friends at Disney Plus will have a special Agatha All Along activation, one of the things I’m most excited for and I’m not just talking about the show. I know Netflix always brings something special and you can expect to have some fun with KFC and many other vendors.
Toys and Collectibles
While the kids might get a new plushy at Kids Con, you can complete your collection with the latest Funko Pops and other collectibles. There will be numerous vendors selling the most awesome stuff. From jewellery, to foreign snacks and everything in-between, there will definitely someone selling something your heart desires. Anyone know where I can get a Spider-Man action figure? Most definitely at Comic Con Africa.
The Experience
Experiencing Comic Con Africa is something I can’t describe. It’s a place where you can just be yourself. You can geek out about comics, anime, movies, food, games and every kind of fandom you can think of. And chances are you can make some really friends. So go enjoy a cool board game, or take on one of the many challenges, maybe do a quiz or just go listen to awesome panels. Comic Con Africa has something for everyone and I can’t wait to experience it again. It feels like home to me.
