I’m not really a horror movie kind of guy, but do like the occasional scare. And since it’s October I thought it would be the perfect time to look at my favourite scary movies.

It is hands down my favourite horror movie. It is story and character-driven and that’s what I love in the movie. Pennywise is a great horror icon and I think he’ll forever be one.
The Final Destination Franchise
Final Destination 2 is definitely my favourite scary movie from the 2000s. It put a new spin on horrors and gave new meaning to fate. The scene with the timber truck is still part of every millennial’s nightmares.
Child’s Play or Chucky Franchise
Child’s Play is probably one of the first horror movies I can remember. I watched that when I was still a kid. In the 90s parents really didn’t care much about how horrific movies can be and it’s safe to say Chucky has never been in my nightmares.
The Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise
Freddy Krueger is another huge horror icon. I loved these movies they remind me of good old slasher movies before the 21st century.
Paranormal Activity Franchise
The movies that reinvented the found footage genre and I loved it. Living in Africa these films seemed really realistic. This was before fast internet, and we just chose to believe it was all real.
