Just Another Thank You

It seems like I’ve been saying thank you a lot, but my heart is filled with the overwhelming amount of support.

When I first started this journey I was all alone. I had experience in journalism and I had a love for pop culture and film – that was it. I didn’t know anyone in the movie business, I didn’t have friends or family who backed me up – I just had a burning passion and a mind filled with perseverance and determination.

But… This column isn’t about me – it’s about everyone single person who supports me. I want to start off by saying thank you to my first two Patrons on Patreon: Sulaiman, and Ryan Mathers. To some people it might not be much, but your contribution to my work means a lot. Having people believe in me and help me along the way really makes this journey worthwhile. Thank you, Sulaiman and Ryan.

I want to say thanks to the first two friends I made in the industry, Margot Maritz and Christie Schultz. It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with both of you and to just talk about movies and life. I look forward to many more collabs and changing the way people view and think about movies. Thank you.

I want to say thanks to every single follower and subscriber. You’re one of the biggest reasons I keep doing this. Every comment, every share, every direct message, every like and every view means everything to me. Without you, I would’ve just been a guy talking to himself on-screen – I already do more than enough of that in real life.

Then I want to say thank you to my parents and siblings for helping me make this happen. It’s great to have a supportive family – even when the extended don’t understand why I keep doing this. You’ve helped me overcome my doubts and achieve things I never thought I could.

I still can’t believe that I’m about to reach 20 000 followers across 2 platforms (Instagram and TikTok). I still feel like I don’t deserve any of the support and that I’m not doing enough. Maybe it’s imposter syndrome, maybe it’s a reality check, but I know I won’t stop now. I set my goals for this year and I’m close to achieving every single one.

I’m grateful that God has been there for me and I don’t thank Him enough for making this all happen.
