I made a commitment to write at least 100 blog posts in 2025 and well, that’s easier said than done.
It means writing at least two columns, reviews or other articles per week and that doesn’t sound like much, but I’m a little out of practice. Last year, I didn’t focus on my writing and it’s funny because it used to bring me a lot joy. If I had one purpose in life, then writing would be it.
I need to stick to this challenge not just to post 100 times but to motivate myself to get back to doing my other writing projects. I want to finish my script for this movie I’ve been planning for the last 5-years (yes, you can request a copy of the script’s first draft). I want to write two short films and maybe shoot one. And most importantly I want to continue writing my horror/fantasy/comedy/sci-fi anthology.
The only way to get myself into writing my passion projects is to write these columns and to ignite a fire within me again. That’s not the only reason for these weekly column – I’ll tell you why in a moment. Yes, I will try my best to write one once a week. The other reason is to share some ideas, to spark new conversations and to just talk nonsense.
I want to share a little bit more about myself with my online friends, you guys aren’t just followers. I want my voice to be heard on another platform, not just the videos. And besides I can say more with written words than through spoken words.
I thought I would struggle writing this first column, but here I am five paragraphs later and I’m still typing. This is what I needed for the longest time and I hope to continue doing it. I also hope that you can get to know a little more about me through these posts. I have a lot to say, but my mouth can’t always mouth it.
One of the most important things I want to share during this column journey is the the importance of mental health. I don’t shy away from talking about my battles with anxiety and to a lesser extent depression. I want to raise awareness and share my experiences.
I also want to share more about my love for film and how it genuinely helped me when I was at my lowest. If it wasn’t for movies, I don’t know what I would’ve been doing today. Anyway, this isn’t suppose to be sad, I want to focus on the positive.
If you’ve read this far then it means I’ve written at least 7 paragraphs and I feel like I have a lot more to say, but I’ll save that for next week. So the message for this week is… Just Write. If you’re struggling to get going, then just try to start. If you want to make videos, just press record. If you want to cook something nice, just crack the egg. If you want to change your life, then just take that first step.

Thank you very much for this heartfelt piece. I can identify with your struggle, being a blogger who is also struggling with blogger’s block sometimes. I hope the film industry will supply you with more than enough material to write about in the form of interesting new movie releases. One major fear is that the wildfires in Los Angeles and California will seriously slow down film production for this year. However I hope there might be enough alternative movie studios to fill in the gap.
