This year we’re getting new seasons of some of the best televisions shows ever, but what are some new shows to look forward to this year?
Severance, Stranger Things, Wednesday, Squid Games, Gen V, and so many other shows are getting new seasons this year. It’s going to be a big year if you’re already a fan of any of these shows, but you also have to make some space for something new. These are my most anticipated new TV shows of the year.
Daredevil: Born Again
This is a new show but technically also a continuation – so for the sake of this article I’m marking it as a new show. I’ve been waiting years for this show, and I really hope it lives up to the hype. Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio back as Wilson Fisk is exactly what we need to make Marvel Great Again. I’m also confident that the return of Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Wilson Bethel will be awesome.
It: Welcome to Derry
Bill Skarsgård is reprising his role as It / Pennywise from the films to enter our nightmares again. The show will serve as prequel to the movies and will be the first of three seasons. I love the IT movies and I’m not even a fan of horrors, but this makes me excited. I want to see how many kids Pennywise can terrorise, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Alien: Earth
I’m so excited for this show that I’m avoiding all marketing for it. I love Alien: Romulus more thant most people and it’s the reason I’m so excited for this show. It’s great to see the Alien franchise get the love it deserves. And to see an Alien take on some humans on earth, there’s no way that can’ be fun. I think this is the start of something beautiful.
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf
I consider The Terminal List as one of the best action thriller shows of the last 10 years, and I don’t care of you disagree. I’m glad that we’re getting to see more of Taylor Kitsch’s character and Chris Pratt is also reprising his role. Hopefully this show can live up to the success of the original and I only can’t wait for The Terminal List season 2.
Zero Day
A political thriller starring Robert De Niro, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Angela Bassett and Dan Stevens? Sign me up. I need a good thriller to keep me on the edge of my seat and I think this show just might do that. I’m excited to learn more about it, for now the cast is enough to get me really excited.
