Who knew cleaning was relaxing?

I know I’m a little late to playing PowerWash Simulator, but I finally got around to cleaning stuff.

I didn’t know I liked cleaning stuff until I started playing this game, and now all of a sudden I’m a neat freak. PowerWash Simulator isn’t just about cleaning, it’s about reaching goals that are actually obtainable. The game never gets overwhelming, although it can get really addictive.

I know PowerWash Simulator 2 is already out, but I think it’s best to focus on the original. I initially just downloaded the game to test out the MSI Crosshair 16 HX laptop. I realised that you probably don’t need a powerful laptop to run the game, but it has been a smooth experience.

I didn’t know what game to try out first, and I saw some videos about PowerWash Simulator, so I gave it a shot. And somehow a supposed 10-minute test run turned into a 6-hour-long gaming session. I don’t regret a single second of it.

The game is for everyone, even hardcore gamers who just want to take a breather. I think the game has sort of become an escape for me when I feel overwhelmed. It’s like one of those scream rooms, but you get to clean something and feel accomplished.

The game can get a little frustrating when you have cleaned something at 99% and you just can’t find the last smudge on a wall or rail or on a tyre. The movement of the character also sometimes feels glitchy, but nothing too bad. I also feel like you can do your best cleaning with a controller rather than a keyboard and mouse.

I also love that the game offers various modes, including multiplayer, so you don’t have to struggle cleaning the city’s fire station alone. You also get to upgrade your gear as the game progresses, and that only makes the game more satisfying. I think my biggest issue with the game is how addictive it can get.

I sometimes get competitive, and my biggest competitor is myself. I want to exceed what I did in a previous stage, and that’s how I end up playing the same game against myself for multiple hours. The good thing is I don’t feel stressed out after a game session, I feel relaxed.

PowerWash Simulator is one of the few games that can genuinely be enjoyed by the whole family. It doesn’t matter whether you game on PC or console, the game is a treat. There are also multiple add-ons, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Shrek, Back to the Future, and many more that can make it even more special. It might not be the most challenging game, but it’s definitely really relaxing.
